Optical Vs Laser Mouse
By: admin

Most people do not really care what type of mouse they are using. Some of them, buying a mouse just because it has nice color and design. Today, i will try to make you understand how a laser mouse can increase your daily work efficiency.
Laser mouse are almost similar to optical mouse by their appearance. To differentiate them, is the packaging itself (laser mouse packaging should written “LASER”) and the price perhaps. Laser mouse price ranging from RM25 onwards. Otherwise, both are almost same.
Whats good about laser mouse?
1. Higher Accuracy - Laser mouse using dual-optical lenses instead of one on optical mouse. Therefore, laser mouse have better accuracy and does not experience cursor dislocation like most of optical mouse.
2. Work on any surface - Laser mouse work on any flat surface including glass. Therefore, laser mouse does not required any additional mouse pad. Hassle-free.
3. Last longer - Generally, laser mouse last longer than optical mouse. Optical mouse users change their mouse more often especially when the mouse become ’stubborn’. On the other hand, a laser mouse has years lifespan.
4. Shape-of-Palm - Most of laser mouse manufacturers commited with the shape of mouse for better comfortability. On the other hand, optical mouse (cheap version) manufacturers do not emphasis on the mouse shape that could endanger the user hand.

Happy New Year 2009
___________________________________________
Xtudentz.com wishing you happy new year. May all your wishes comes true. It is common thing to set an aim (azam) during a new year. Most all of you want to improve your life / yourselves, and same goes to me. Life seems like so complicated nowadays. As i get older, it really makes me think that this “civilisation” is going to be a bad thing. I never been born in past, but i could imagine how good our previous generation. The time where children respect their parent, students respect their teacher, wives respect their husband. Women is protected, neighbour is apart of family, fight is avoided, religion is practiced, family members are close each other. If i can choose on which time i will be born, i will choose in late 60’s. But i want to bring along an iphone with me so i can show off with it (im a gadget-freak anyway).hahahaha.
Mind to share your aim for 2009 with us?

7 Qualities Of A Good Wife
Source: http://leiannatheea.multiply.com/reviews/item/9
By: dya

Have a look at these qualities of a good wife. Its good to know, better to remind ourselves everyday and the best is to practice. I believe, this is the key of happiness
7) Nag* free. Ladies, a good wife is going to be nag free. Nagging is an ineffective method of trying to get your husband to perform a thing for you. Trust me ladies, it doesn’t work and mostly it will have the opposite of its intended affect.
6) Supportive. What does it mean to be supportive? Do you belittle your man or do you help him to feel good about himself, his job, activities? Your husband will be much more respectful of you if you support him. Even when you don’t agree with him, respectfully let him know you don’t agree – then support him anyway. Otherwise, if he has difficulties, he’ll feel as though you’re adding to his troubles.
5) Build up your man. Ladies, there’s no quicker way to build anger in your man than to criticize him – especially in front of others. On the other hand, try complementing your husband in front of other people. Your husband will glow with admiration toward you and you’ll feel his appreciation.
4) Keep him happy in the bedroom. Unfortunately, many women underestimate the importance of keeping her man’s needs met. Often this comes from the basic differences in women and men. For men, sexual desire is much like physical hunger and if it’s not fed properly – the relationship will struggle. Women must look to understand the needs of the man from his perspective not hers.
3) Respect. A good wife will try to treat her man with respect. How? Much of learning how to be respectful toward your husband has to do with the way you talk to him. The old phrase “It’s not so much what you say but how you say it” should be practiced. This doesn’t mean you need to be careful what you say to your husband, just be respectful in the way you say it.
2) Communicate. A good wife will seek to discover what’s on her mind and find a way to express herself to her husband. Often, men and women will make a joint decision – while the man thinks she’s in agreement with him, but only to discover later that she thought the decision was a bad idea.
1) Be pleasant. Work to be pleasant toward your husband. Don’t make people around you feel bad just because you’ve had a hard day. Good things will come from being pleasant. It’s a decision – just decide to be pleasant. But if you can’t be pleasant, make a decision not to bring him down with you.
*Nag - Someone (especially a woman) who annoys people by constantly finding fault.

HTPC PROJECT - PART I
INTRODUCTION TO HARDWARE
By: jeje

HTPC is quite new in Malaysia. HTPC is similar to normal PC, but it serve different functionality, as multimedia center. HTPC is placed at guest hall as TV, DVD player, media center, gaming console, internet station, photo album and even wall picture. Moreover, it uses special Operating System (OS) and hardware (different in shape). In this part, im going to introduce the hardware used in this project. Personally, i prefer to have good-looking, affordable (i consider used hardware), quality and mid-performance hardware. Some people may prefer cheap/new/high-performance/full-features hardware depends on their budget.
1. The monitor - Panasonic plasma TV 42″

The TV is bought by my father. My home doesnt has Astro (my family members dont watch TV so much, we are internet freak!), so the big TV without any special capability is just a waste. Its has HDMI Input, so the HTPC can connect to TV by using HDMI cable.
2. The casing - Cooler Master Media 282 HTPC casing (RM425)

This casing is most affordable (yeah that expensive) with good looking by Cooler Master. There are a lot more HTPC casing up to RM3000 and it just a casing! But dont worry, there is a lot of alternative HTPC casing out there from as low as RM200.
3. The remote control - Logitech Dinovo Mini (RM450)

The is mini keyboard with touchpad. Its wireless and the battery can last up to 1month for every 4hours charging. This keyboard was designed specially for HTPC. Its small but it costs a bomb! and there is no other alternative keyboard that has looks, function and design like it is. Anyway, you can use normal size wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.
4. TV/FM Tuner Card - Campro Videomate TV Gold TV Tuner (RM100-used)

This is PCI-E TV card. It has poweron capability, which is your HTPC can be switched ON just by pressing power button on the remote. Its make your PC behave like normal TV. It also has FM tuner, so you can listen to radio on your HTPC. It costs me RM100 for second hand unit (to cut cost).
5. CD/DVD player - Pioneer DVR S16FXB (RM119)

It just normal DVDRW drive. It is cheap from as low as RM60+. However, i choose this one because Pioneer drive is just awesome. It can play any CD/DVD even the disk is full of scratch/break into two
6. Graphic Card - Gigabyte 4670 512MB DDR3 (RM320)

The graphic card detemines the display quality on your TV. This graphic card support DirectX 10.1 (DX10) for Vista (yes, we are running Vista Ultimate). It has acceptable performance and be able to support 42″ monitor. This is medium-end graphic card, but i suggest you get a high-end graphic card which RM500 onwards especially when you want your HTPC to be your main gaming station.
7. The processor - Intel® Core™2 Duo E6600 Processor (RM230-used)
It is advisable to get multicore processor to fully support Windows Vista.
8. The RAM - Kingston Value RAM 2×2GB DDR2 800MHz (RM158)

4GB RAM for just RM158!. The RAM is damn cheap nowadays. It is advisable to buy RAM with at least 2GB capacity. 4GB of RAM is recommended.
9. The Motherboard - MSI P45 Platinum (RM400-used)

The most important thing to decide. Make sure your motherboard compatible with all other hardware. This motherboard uses P45 chipset from Intel, it support high definition (HD) audio and video output (most of latest motherboard support HD AV). You can buy any other motherboard from as low as RM250 for new one.
9. The Hard Disk - Seagate 500GB 7200RPM (RM205)

11. The Power Supply - Cooler Master Real Power 450W (used-RM100)

_________________________________________________________________________________________________
The total cost is = RM2508.
The cost for casing + keyboard + motherboard = RM1275 (51% of total cost)
As you can see, these 3 hardware is highly affect the cost of your HTPC. I prefer good-looking hardware (the casing and keyboard) for my HTPC. The motherboard is value for money hardware as the seller decide to sell to me at RM400 for 2month old motherboard (The price as Nov 20th 2008 is RM550). If you have greater budget, you can consider sound card and speaker as well.
